Our Story

How Pure Came To Be…

“Have you ever asked yourself,

‘If I could choose anything I wanted to do as my profession and there were no obstacles in my way, what would I do?’

Well, that is the very question that was asked of me in 2002 by one of my co-workers. Little did I know that the answer to that question would spark the concept for what would become Pure Salon Spa.

At that time, I was working full-time as a product manager for a loyalty marketing company, but my answer literally fell out of my mouth with no hesitation. I declared that I would

‘quit my job, get licensed as a cosmetologist, and open an Aveda salon.’

Within that year, that’s exactly what I did.

Obviously, many things had to happen to take me from that moment to November 22, 2008, when I opened our doors for business; however, I am one of the lucky ones who found something I am passionate about and took the risk to make it happen.

When it came to choosing a location for my salon, I did research on the emerging markets in Louisville, and there were several indicators that the Fern Creek area was one of the fastest growing in the city. With all of the new residential areas being developed here and in surrounding areas, I noticed that there seemed to be something missing in the way of a higher-end option for the services we provide.

It is with great pleasure that I bring a better salon and spa experience to Fern Creek and surrounding areas, as well as the Aveda products that have proven to be some of the best in the industry.

I pride myself on the teamwork and professionalism of my staff and want to provide an environment of relaxation and an escape from the stress and chaos of everyday living. We work hard to create a welcoming environment and the technical skills necessary to serve all guests with all hair types from straight to wavy, curly or coily. For us, it is so much more than just performing a service. It is an entire ‘experience’ that we strive to create for our guests.
