Well hello August. Or is it goodbye? I just can't believe it's the end of summer. For me summertime means lazy time. The days are long and hot and they all run together. My motivation to accomplish tasks is set aside for spontaneous front porch gatherings and a little salt around the rim of my drink. My to do list has exactly zero checkmarks and tan lines are really all we have to show for what we've been doing. But, now that school has started I think it's time I get back to business. So, can we just pretend that the end of summer is the beginning of a new year? Because I am in serious need of a mid year resolution. Yes? Ok, let's do it!
First off, as the summer has gone on my look has gotten........well, relaxed? If I had to wear something with buttons right now I think my waistline would cry. I don't think that my wrinkled t shirt and see through black leggings are going to cut it for school drop off. My capsule wardrobe is in need of a reboot and I must go shopping for a few pairs of grown up pants and blouses (no cotton)!
Since my ratty hat probably won't go with my new clothes it's time I do something with my hair. I haven't been to the salon all summer and that "sun kissed" look I had in the spring now looks like a bad bleach job with some extreme gray roots! Ugh. I am going to make and KEEP my appointments at the schedule that my lovely stylist puts me on. There's a reason she says to come in every 8 weeks.
Finally, my skin. At my age ANY sun on my face makes me look wrinkly. So, I need some serious moisture asap! I found this great mask and I whipped it up for some soothing nutrients that my skin desperatly needs.
-squeeze of half lemon
-two tbsp of honey
Mix together and apply.
Now. I think this is the way to get this year started off right. Fall and winter here I come feeling fresh and ready! What are your new year's resolutions?
