It’s been said that your hair is your crowning glory. Learn how to make sure your crown is always shining.
-To prevent hair color from fading in the summer months, dampen hair before getting into a pool, and apply a leave in conditioner. That will prevent salts and chlorine from fading color.
-To give your hair a loose flowing tousled look, shake your head up and down like a rock star would, this will prevent pulling out your curl than running your fingers through it would. Then use some hair spray!
-To make curls last, make sure hair is completely dry before you begin with the curling iron.
-If you have oily hair, avoid directly conditioning roots and condition from your jaw line down to ends.
-To make volume last all day, avoid running your fingers through hair. Oil from your hands can weigh down your roots leaving your hair flat at the end of the day.
-Try to avoid washing your hair every day. Constant shampooing leaves hair dry and your scalp will create more oils to compensate for the loss of moisture.
-To revive curls mid-day - take a very small amount of pomade and put it in the palms of your hands. Rub them together. Next gently smooth the pomade over your curls and scrunch just a little bit.
-The healthier you are, the healthier your hair! Take a daily B complex vitamin to see hair growth! All the essential vitamins you need for healthy hair and hair growth are in that vitamin.
-To fix brassy hair color, use a color-depositing shampoo with violet/blue tones. For unwanted redness, use a color-depositer with a green tone.
-To cover up roots in a hurry, use a dry shampoo spray for your hair color. If you don’t keep this product around, use eyeshadow (in a shade closest to your hair color) for a quick fix.
-After conditioning hair, follow with a cold water rinse to close your hair’s cuticle. This will retain more moisture on your ends and prevent color fading.
-Hair spray or smoothing serum addict? Use a clarifying shampoo once a week to get rid of any product build-up from the week. These silicone(plastic) based products will only weigh your hair down after layering and reduce shine.
-Apply dry shampoo or baby powder the night before. All your tossing and turning will help to work it in and you'll wake up with more volume! Not to mention you won't have those white blotches!
-If you don’t have nail polish remover, apply clear nail polish over and then wipe off immediately. It will remove old polish.
-Don't have time to re-polish nails or fix a chipped nail, add glitter to disguise the look of chipping.
-Smudged your freshly painted nails? Dab the tip of one of your fingers (not the nail) into polish remover, and use it to lightly smooth over the smudge to smooth the ridge down.
-Make light colored polishes vibrant by applying a white base coat rather than a clear base coat. This gives the opacity you always desire.
-Remove stain from yellowed nails by mixing lemon juice and salt to whiten. You can also use this on your teeth.
